Environmental sub-committee — expressions of interest

Our newly appointed Sustainability Officer, Alex Madden, has been hard at work developing initiatives to ensure the club becomes more sustainable and environmentally conscious. As you will be able to see when you get your morning coffee at the club there are PSLSC branded keep cups for sale – this is an effort to reduce our waste impact on the national park and marine environment that we are in.

We are currently seeking expressions of interest from those who are interested in joining our environmental sub-committee.

This application is directed to individuals passionate about sustainability and interested in making an impact as a member of the PSLSC environmental sub-committee. The sub-committee will work together to make our club and our members more sustainable and educated about the environment we live in and operate in.

The Environmental Officers will form a team and work together in implementing innovative and interactive initiatives that promote conscious actions to increase the sustainable efforts of our club and members.

The environmental sub-committee will work with the Sustainability Officer, Alexandra Madden, and report to the Operational Committee.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Each officer will work in an area of strength and interest related to the environment

  • The Environmental Sub-Committee will meet to discuss initiatives and set future goals and discuss how to engage our whole member base.

The 3 members of the sub-committee will be focused in the age group of 15+ focusing on youth member retention and engaging our older member base; bringing together a blend of experience and knowledge.

Please contact Alex Madden at alexandra.madden@portseasurf.com.au if you have any questions in relation to the application or our club sustainability plan.
