Portsea Swim Classic & Bay To Surf Results 2022
January 15, 2022Portsea Raffle & Silent Auction
January 31, 2022On the 14th of January 2022 Portsea SLSC held the Inaugural Portsea Bay to Surf! The event saw 500 competitors walk and run through the picturesque landscape of Point Nepean National Park, tackling either the 9km endurance adventure run, 4.5km dash or 4.5km adventure walk.
It was spectacular to see so many smiling faces take to the start lines at Jarman Oval, Quarantine Station. We are so proud that we were able to deliver this event in a COVIDsafe manner in the face of rising COVID case numbers across the Mornington Peninsula.
We would like to thank all competitors who supported and trusted in our ability to deliver a safe, fun and memorable event. As well as all the volunteers who made this event a possibility. We would also like to thank our major event sponsors Brooks and Bared Footwear who placed their faith in us to make this event a success, as well as our event partners Carman’s and Therabody.
It was a proud moment walking down the ramp at Portsea, watching all the competitors’ stream across the finish line against the picturesque back drop of the sun setting behind the waves on Portsea Back Beach and hundreds of competitors who had already crossed the finish line enjoying a drink and a bite to eat on the Portsea SLSC deck.
Once again, I would like to personally thank the Portsea SLSC Bay to Surf sub-committee members and all the volunteers, who generously gave up their time to help deliver this marvellous event! I cannot wait to see the Bay to Surf become a permanent fixture on the Portsea SLSC calendar.
We are so excited to see the Portsea Classic weekend become even bigger and better in 2023. I hope to see you all entered in the Portsea Bay to Surf on the Friday evening, as well as the Portsea Swim Classic on the following Saturday.
Jess Lamb,
Bay to Surf Race Director
