Side-by-Side Vehicles – better known as ATV’s – are some of lifesaving’s most useful and important assets whilst patrolling. From transporting valuable rescue equipment including IRB’s and RWC’s, to assisting in Search & Rescue missions, SSV Operators are an integral part of any lifesaving or operational team.
This course will:
Allow candidates to prepare a SSV for operational duties including:
- The roles, responsibilities and limitations associated with lifesaving vehicles
- Operating the SSV in a safe and responsible manner
- Maintaining the vehicle by completing pre and post-operational checks
- Understanding the relevant laws and SOP’s associated with SSV’s
Pre-requisites:
- Minimum 18 years old
- Hold a current Victorian Drivers Licence (or Probationary Licence)
