I started my Portsea journey as a nipper, In 2017 I completed my bronze medallion and since have attended our silver camp and gained my IRB crew and drivers. It was on our leadership night at silver camp I realised our lack of an environmental agenda and began to think of ways I could help. I approached the committee with a plan and was fortunate enough to be appointed the club’s first Sustainability Director, this upcoming season will be my second in the role and I am beyond excited to share this season with my Environmental Sub-committee whom I have been working with to assist the club in becoming more environmentally conscious. We as a club should be proud that in the first season we introduced several new environmental relationships with local groups and made changes to ensure we care for our unique environment. Noticeably we should be proud of our environmental nipper education program, that was a finalist in the LSV awards of excellence night. I am excited to continue in this role and invite you to contact me if you have an interest in furthering our work.
