The 2025 edition of Platinum Camp continued to establish the program as a mainstay in the Portsea education pathway. Across the camp’s three days, another 14 Portsea members obtained their Silver Medallion Aquatic Rescue (SMAR) award. With Portsea being the only active club in Victoria currently, offering this qualification, it was great to watch our next generation of leaders build on their previous lifesaving experiences and develop their advanced rescue and incident management skills. It will certainly be reassuring to see them in action on the beach and keeping beachgoers safe for many summers to come.
