January 31, 2025On Sunday, 19th January 2025, the esteemed Life Members of our organization gathered for a special luncheon to honour two new inductees, Julian Byrne and Marc Pizzi. This annual event, held in recognition of outstanding contributions, saw 22 Life Members and their partners come together to celebrate the legacy of dedication and service that continues to define our community.
At the opening of the lunch the members paused to remember our recently deceased member Graham Wells who died after a year-long illness.
This was followed by an uplifting speech delivered by our Patron, Rob Fildes AM. Rob spoke about the importance of service, commitment, and leadership. He emphasized the significant contributions made by all those members present stressing the thousands of hours of volunteer service the combined Life Members have provided.
While President Matt Mahon was unable to attend, Vice President Brett Croft stepped in to lead the proceedings giving an update of the season so far and then holding an impromptu Q & A session. The atmosphere was filled with camaraderie and respect as members reflected on the rich history of the organization and the remarkable individuals who have shaped its success.
