IRB’s have been used for all forms of surf rescue, retrieval, and other services during patrols and water safety events. They are a staple of the SLS workforce and rescue thousands of patients along Australian beaches each year.
This course will:
- Provide participants with the skills and knowledge to effectively crew an IRB in rescue operations, including:
- Working with IRB’s
- IRB Equipment & Operation Checks / Maintenance
- Crewing an IRB & Performing IRB Rescues
- Search & Rescue Operations
Pre-requisites:
- Current Bronze Medallion
- Minimum 15 years old on the day of final assessment
