With January fast approaching, everyone’s excited for our Portsea Classic Weekend, with the Swim Classic returning bigger than ever, and the Inaugural Portsea Bay to Surf run debuting, it’s bound to be a weekend of fitness and fun!
We can’t wait to see competitors returning to the Swim Classic on Saturday 15th Jan 2022, eager to demonstrate their swimming prowess! Portsea member, Chris Yencken, this year will swim the 36th Swim Classic for his 36th time! An impressive feat of endurance and commitment to our club’s biggest event since its birth in 1986. We love to see the support and camaraderie that every year the Swim Classic brings out in our members and the community!
For the keen runners and athletes out there, don’t forget about our Portsea Bay to Surf adventure run and walk on Friday 14th Jan 2022. This is the perfect opportunity to show off your lockdown running gains in either the 9km run or 4.5km run. We also have our 4.5km walk available for those keen in participating, supporting Portsea SLSC, and getting a T-shirt!
We know our ambassadors TV Presenter Brodie Harper, Heath Meldrum and their daughter Jess are excited for both the 2022 Portsea Swim Classic and Bay to Surf. Brodie is a marathon runner, so is looking forward to partaking in the Portsea Bay to Surf! Additionally, there’s no doubt that Heath will return in 2022 looking to come out on top in the swim, given that he was so close last year, coming second in the 40-49 category! We’re also eager to see Jess power through the junior swim, likely looking to follow her dad onto one of the podium positions!
